Not medical advice

Movement Lab measures joint angles from a camera. It is a training tool, not a diagnostic one. It does not diagnose, treat, or assess injury, and nothing it reports should be used in place of a qualified clinician.

Accuracy

Measurements come from a single 2D camera and are affected by lighting, clothing, camera angle and body proportions. Treat readings as a trend to follow over time, not as clinical measurements. Where a test approximates a clinical one, the app labels it as such.

What we do with measurements

Besides showing you your own results, we use measurements to build population comparisons, tune the tests, and publish findings about how human range of motion varies. That use is always aggregate and de-identified: a group of at least 100 people described by a distribution, with no way back to a person. In that aggregate form the data may also be published, licensed or transferred. By using the app you permit it.

Your individual measurements are never sold or shared. Deleting your account removes them, and you will not appear in any aggregate computed afterwards. An aggregate that has already been published cannot be unpicked, and holds no record of you to remove.

Subscription

Recording sessions is free. An annual subscription ($59.99) unlocks full history and trends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The annual subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed in your Apple ID settings.

Your responsibility

Move within your own range. Stop if something hurts. Do not attempt a test you are not already comfortable performing unsupervised.
